A friend of mine, whilst listening to her 60s and 70s playlist, recounted a childhood memory of being called “love child“ back in the day ; her words sparked the inspiration for this piece. The paintbrush took over and the image appeared; this wild-haired, free-spirited, six year old lovechild spinning, dancing (or flying) with pure abandon! The song lyrics of “Eagle” by Abba spill out across the canvas along with other love quotes, love poems and the like, and the end result evokes, I hope, the pure joy, innocence and the ignorant bliss of being a six year old again.
